Get into the habit of practicing something you're not good at every day!

Practicing at home can be easier if you always have your equipment set up. It’s easier to procrastinate if setup is a factor. Practice planning a set. Start piecing together songs that work well together in Key and BPM to create a playlist. Learn your strengths and weaknesses. What do you need to learn to make the sound you want? What should you avoid until you get more practice in? Practice a few 'fallback' routines. Practice opening and closing a set. Record your practice sets to get used to the pressure. Get feedback from friends, family or other DJs to gain perspective. Don’t feel bad about criticism. Get into the habit of practicing something you're not good at every day! We are all constantly improving.
